Sunderland Culture- Pitch and feedback

 The following document contains my initial pitch for the Sunderland Culture project, including my feedback. The pitch includes initial ideas for what my project could look like, a first draft of my target or preferred audiences and response to potential setbacks. This has been amended multiple times as my ideas have changed from what I originally planned. 


Peer Feedback

I have also sent out a Google form to my class to ensure they think that my idea fits the brief well and also think it will be something they will be interested in seeing the finished product of. 




From the form responses I was pleased to see that 100% of my respondents said that my idea fits the brief well (answering either 'strongly agree' or 'agree'). They were also able to identify my main theme of heritage and said that I had thought about the clients needs. I also found that 71% of respondents said that they would be interested in seeing my final product of this project. I am now happy to go ahead with this idea going forward. 




Feedback from lecturer:

There was no suggestion to tweak or add anything to my pitch but evidence of my research into existing products and target audience are now completed and up on my blogger page under different posts.

Copyright and permissions for footage

Due to the cost of an entry ticket into Beamish, I have considered using stock footage instead of getting the footage myself. For this, I sourced a clip from the BFI which included the city of Sunderland trams from 1904. I spoke with some one from the BFI who was able to supply me with their copyright policy and fair use of the video clip. This was as follows: " Several exceptions allow copyright works to be used for educational purposes, such as: the copying of works in any medium as long as the use is solely to illustrate a point, it is not done for commercial purposes, it is accompanied by a sufficient acknowledgement, and the use is fair dealing. This means minor uses, such as displaying a few lines of poetry on an interactive whiteboard, are permitted, but uses which would undermine sales of teaching materials are not performing, playing or showing copyright works in a school, university or other educational establishment for educational purposes. Pre Production- Script

  This post contains my script. I originally did not have one or intend to write one but my audience feedback has told me that this is something that would be worthwhile including. As said on other posts, I did not want a narration over the entire video.
