First Draft of video & audience feedback
I created a video just over a minute long which gives a feel to what my final product could look like. I then gathered feedback on this which will help in my production and final edit. I was able to find out more about what audiences wanted and expected from my product.
First draft video:
I asked for feedback via google forms and asked a series of questions which help me understand what exactly works in the video and what could be done better.
I will be making changes to my project based on the feedback received, this is mainly relevant to the introduction of my video. As there was a suggestion to improve the intro, I will be story boarding an intro that I hope will be more gripping and interesting. As the draft video just gets straight into the main body of the video, I want to make sure that I have a good introduction to my bid video as it is something my potential audiences have picked up on.
I have also realised that maybe my audiences have mistaken it for a documentary rather than a bid video as I have intended. Someone suggested that there is more of me in it as a host, however, it is not my intention for the video to have a host. I wanted a range of people taking about Sunderland and its history which acts as a sort of narration for the piece. Rather than have just my own opinions and experiences, I see more value in gathering other peoples comments and combining them all. This way, it also shows Sunderland off as a community which is tied by a love of the city.
Finally, I found out that the montage and narration works well for the video according to my audience feedback. All of my responses said either agree or slightly agree to this question and so I am happy to proceed with this video style. My feedback also gave me the green light in the sense that it would be a project that people are actually interested in watching the final product of. I am now in a good position to go ahead with the final edit.
